Day 09 – Best scene ever

NaNoWriMo word count: That depends entirely on how you count it…. current story, 1100 ish…. since November 1, 5000…ish. I started a story, hated it, started a new one, hated it, started a new one, got reinspired, started story number 4 which was when I reset the word count.

Best scene in a book, ever… The first thing that popped into my head was from The Broken Sword, book two of the Forever King/Arthur Blessing trilogy by Molly Cochran. The Round Table knights have come out of their time and into the present and I’m sure you can only imagine the chaos that ensues as they “adjust” to their new surroundings.

There are actually several scenes within this scene but the first is what would have become a bar brawl under any other circumstances but when one side of the brawl is modern day twin brother antique dealers and the other side is eleven medieval knights, one of whom wields a mace which he smashes into the pub’s front door frame, “brawl” is not quite the proper word. “Hilarious,” however is much closer to accurate.
